  1. Trim the Wick: Before lighting your candle, trim the wick to approximately 6mm. This prevents excessive smoke, soot, and uneven burning.
  2. First Burn Matters: Allow your candle to burn until the entire surface becomes liquid. This prevents tunnelling and ensures an even melt pool. For larger candles, this may take a few hours.
  3. Avoid Drafts: Place your candle away from drafts (open windows, fans, air conditioning vents). Drafts can cause uneven burning and excessive flickering.
  4. Keep the Wax Pool Clean: Remove any debris (wick trimmings, matches) from the melted wax pool. This helps maintain a clean burn.
  5. Burn Time: Limit each burn session to 3-4 hours. Extinguish the candle if it burns longer to prevent overheating.
  6. Extinguish Safely: Use a snuffer or gently blow out the flame. Avoid blowing directly onto the wax to prevent splattering.
  7. Centre the Wick: After extinguishing, re-centre the wick while the wax is still soft. This prevents the wick from drifting and ensures an even burn next time.
  8. Storage: Store candles in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Extreme heat can warp the wax.
